How accurate is Sprints Coverage Map

About 6 months ago, I switched to T-Mobile from VZW. T-Mobiles coverage map turned out not to be so reliable in some key areas for me, so I'm thinking of giving Spint a shot. The coverage map looks good, both in Enhanced LTE and standard LTE in every normal spots I will use the phone. With TMO maps proving not to be accurate, I'm gun shy to make the switch based on maps alone. Plus, Sprint's service doesn't always have a good rep/'word of mouth'. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Test drive the network risk free for 28 days. The map isn't 100% accurate but I lay down my word that in the past 2 years the network is night and day, & way better. Just make sure you get a new device that supports Carrier Aggregation.

T-Mobile map is very accurate. T-Mobile gathers data supplied by your phone to create the coverage maps. T-Mobile network from 1 year ago till now is completely different. Tons of coverage.

When I was with sprint and traveled up to Chicago, there would be gaps along I65, but that was out in bfe and expected. If you're in one of the larger cities like Merrillville, Hammond, etc you should be fine. If I was on my nexus 6, I could probably give you some speeds, but I've not been up there on the 6p where I could use aggregation before I switched to tmobile. If I remember, I'll post back.

T-Mobiles map is not even close. Its exaggerated in so many places that I've been to.

Check out OpenSignal or Sensorly for honest maps. The data is crowd sourced by actual users, not by corporate lawyers.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm sticking with T-Mobile for now. There is not enough evidence showing that I will get better coverage with Sprint in my area. And I just don't trust the maps.

Coverage maps are created by theory, not by actually mapping out the area. (The old Verizon "can you hear me now" commercials were just commercials, not fact.) Don't depend on the map at all, you have 14 days to try the phone in the places you need coverage. (Sprint covers this entire city - every inch - except my daughter's house, which gets shadowed by a ridge. So it's great for everyone, but totally useless to me. I can't use the phone when I'm there without stepping outside. Anywhere outside - just not within the 4 walls. AT&T misses a whole neighborhood - but I never go there - and it's solid inside my daughter's house, so it's better for me.)
