How are you upgrading to the HTC One from another Android phone?

I have the original HTC Evo 4G, running Android 2.3.5 and unrooted. I have most of my apps running from the installed external SD card.

I sync my emails, contacts and calendar with Exchange.

Any suggestions on how best to migrate apps, settings and data?

Would there be a problem using older app (most of my apps have NOT been updated to newer versions) and app settings on the big jump in Android versions?

You will be starting from scratch. Syncing to an Exchange server won't be an issue, but everything else is. Android no longer supports running apps from external storage, on top of the fact that this phone has nowhere for you to insert that card anyway. And when you install all of your apps on this new device, you get the new version of the app. You don't have an option in the Google Play to download an older version if you liked it better. Which is a shame, since some updates render an app totally useless. There are some easy ways to prep yourself for the transition, though. And yours will be a bigger transition than most, going from Gingerbread on a beloved 3 year old device to Jellybean on the latest and greatest hardware.

The best way would be to get htc's sync app on the play store if its not already downloaded! It syncs over bluetooth and it can sync everything over.. not sure about apps but thats fine by me because i like a fresh start with my new phones

im running 4.1.2 on my galaxy s2 so im just gonna use titanium backup and transfer everything once the at&t one is rooted.

If you use carbon you don't need root.

What is "carbon" and how do you use it?

EDIT: Ah, I found it in Google Play, but Carbon - Backup isn't compatible with Android 2.3.5.
