How can b-u-t-t dialing happen?

Had a situation where my Vivid dialed someone...they happen to be #2 on my speed dial. They also happen to be the last person I called.

Phone was in my front pocket, screen to my body, power button facing down, phone asleep. So, to make a call, I would have to wake the phone up from sleep, pull the ring to unlock the screen, hit the green phone button to bring up the dial pad, and hold the #2 down for 2+ seconds. How can that happen?

Or is there an easier way to dial the last called number??

Double tapping the microphone button on headphones/earbuds with a mic will call the last dialed number.

There are some apps that "force wake" the screen, which of course turns on the screen.

Pocket lining is very thin, so the touch it could receive can come from your thigh. I've had this happen to me numerous times. It can slide the phone into the ring and your thigh can click randomly on the screen, placing a call.

This actually just happened to me yesterday.... Seems like a lot of things that have to line up just so.... But it did. Phone was in front pocket, pointing down.

The button is already difficult to accidentally/purposely press.

I meant by itself, but back when I used the OEM battery and Otterbox case, it was a lot easier to press.

I have a tpu case, which theoretically would make it harder to accidentally activate. Theoretically. Ha :-)
