I'm in a predicament. I connected my Kindle Fire HD to my Windows 7 PC via USB. I then selected a MKV video file and attempted to copy it to the /sdcard/Movies folder on my KFHD using Windows 7 File Explorer. Windows 7 gave me the following prompt:
Do you want to copy {filename}.mkv to your device?
Your device might not be able to play or view this file.
--> No, skip this file.
--> Yes (your file will be copied, but you might not be able to play or view it on your device)
I foolishly selected "Yes". The file copied successfully, but it doesn't appear in the /sdcard/Movies folder, either when I access that folder from my Win7 PC via the USB connection or directly from my KFHD. At first I thought the file was simply missing, but I know it's there because when I go to Settings on my KFHD, then Device, then Storage, the "Others" category shows 1.2 GB which is about the size of the file I copied. It's grayed out so I can't access the file that way, either.
I'd like to use a video player like MX Player or MoboPlayer to play this MKV file, but if I can't even access the file, no video player will find it.
Any thoughts on what I can to do either make the file visible to my KFHD (and all apps like MX Player, ES File Explorer, etc.), or delete the file so it's not taking up precious internal storage?
Thanks in advance for any help (I sure need it).
