How can I find "device" in AllShare Cast

I have a C2G Miracast Wireless Adapter to stream from my Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014). Following the adapter instructions, I found the Miracast app on my Note, but there seemed no way to get "beyond" the app. The adapter was connected to a projector, and the message remained indicating the adapter was ready for connection. I could not find "device," much less the "pairing" selection--presumably necessary for my Note and the adapter to "connect." Any suggestions or comments? Thank you.

Reading about the adaptor suggests to me you would use Wi-Fi direct for the connection. Does that work?
