AC Question
camera close up auto focus
I have a few good quality Android phones/tablets and a digital camera and they all suffer similar/same issue.
I am trying to focus up to something really close. The lens tries to focus and the auto-focus software tells it when it is in focus. When the object is really close the lens fails to focus. However while it is trying to focus and is moving in and out, there comes a moment where it has achieved perfect focus and the subject is very clear. But then somehow the software dismisses the clear picture and focuses out again.
Depending on light conditions and the ether, sometimes the lens will manage to focus in, but most of the time it fails. So when I am trying to take a picture of something really close it is really infuriating to watch the camera trying to focus, achieve perfect clarity, and then dismissing it, resulting in bad focus, and then after 100 attempts it might just work.
Since I can see clear pictures while it is trying to focus I believe this is not a lens physical limitation but a software issue.
If there was a manual focus function there would be no issue of course, but such thing does not exist.
Has anyone else seen and /or fixed this problem?
