How can I fix my Samsung Galaxy 3 black screen?

My Samsung Galaxy 3 screen is black and won't light up. Now it is still registering touch and the message light and bottom screen light are still working. The phone has no water damage and there were no new drops. Is there anything I can try to fix this problem?

Welcome to Android Central! The screen has failed. You can either bring it to a repair shop for replacement, or try to do it yourself if you're handy--there are plenty of DIY videos on YouTube.
