How can I fix my text messaging app?

Every time I try to open and write a new text it says "sending disabled" and I can't write or send. I don't know how I did this. I was disabling other unused apps and I think I accidentally clicked something to do with the messaging app. I looked in disabled apps but it's not there. Any suggestions on what to try? For now I'm using Verizon's message+. I prefer the stock app better.

I would go back in and re-enable every app and then reboot.
