How can I fix the Overview screen?

I have an Asus Memo Pad 7, and I recently started using it. It worked well for a few days, and still does, except for when I go to the Overview/Recent apps screen. Whenever I tap the icon for recent apps, I see the current app shrink into the card it is supposed to, but the screen turns black. Then when I tap or swipe on the black screen, it returns to the home page. When I re-open the app, it opens to the page where I left off. There are certain apps that I actually want to force close i.e. swipe away from the overview screen, and this issue isn't letting me do that.

It could be a memory issue. Try clearing cache and see if that helps. Otherwise, try closing some of the more service intensive apps and see if that helps.
