How can I get from Gingerbread to Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly or Helly Bean?

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade and am having a very hard time figuring out how to do so. It has been a while and I cannot find the proper docs for a newb. I have downloaded both ROMS. I am rooted but am not sure if I need new tools or not to install the new OS from the .zip file. Any help is appreciated. Just a link to the right install doc would be great as I cannot find it myself.

Well I have downloaded the Helly Ban and tried to install but I am getting an Error 7 during install. Any ideas?

Nevermind I got it. I needed to update my CM4 to CM7.

Done deal.
