Android Central Question

My galaxy tab will not find my brother wifi printer. I have tried the google route and downloaded the brother printer plugin. The printer shows on my network and works fine with several pc's. My tab connect to the wifi just fine

Printing from a PC and printing from a tablet are different "animals". The computers can see and connect to the printer on the WiFi because as far as they are concerned the printer is just another network device with a specific function.

According to what I'm reading - that app is all you need to get started. The next question - are the printer and tablet on the same WiFi network? Some routers can broadcast different networks, some also allow devices to NOT talk to each other on the wireless network (you don't say if the PCs are wired or wireless).

Thanks the pc'c are connected via wifi and the router shows both the tablet and printer to be on connected to it but having tried to find the printer from my phone it has the same problem so seems to be related to android. The network name for both seems to be the same too. I have my router 'open' and can see no setting that would stop devices talking to each other. Any other ideas. The router does show both 2.4ghz and 5 ghz channels but hve tried connecting tablet separately to each with no effect.
