Calls come in a then can't hear me and I can't either!! It's also saying my microphone is not working

Calls come in a then can't hear me and I can't either!! It's also saying my microphone is not working

This happened to me and it was determined by Google to be a hardware issue. I got ahold using the chat in the settings menu and was sent a 'refurbished' unit that I'm 99% sure is brand new.
