How can I make calendar notifications visible?

New Droid X user and very happy so far. But I need a way to get calendar reminders to show up when the phone is sleeping. I get the little sound when the reminder goes off, but I'm often in a noisy environment where I won't notice the sound. Every smart phone I've known before will light up the screen and post a reminder, so every time I see it, I know I've got something coming up.

I've looked at all the settings and I can't find one to wake up the phone. Is there a way to do this? Do I need a 3rd party app?

Calendar snooze is a great app for this. Works perfectly

Tried Calendar Snooze. Lots of features I don't need, but it does do what I wanted. First time it went off in a meeting was pretty funny! I'm sure I'll be able to tame it soon.
