How can I paste a telephone number in the dialing screen?

how can i paste a telephone number in the dialing screen?

Android 5.1.1 - Samsung Note 5

In previous Android versions, I could copy a telephone number from my email and paste it directly onto the dialing screen.

With 5.1.1, I don't know how to paste the copied text onto the dialing screen.

It's done the same way. Just copy the phone number and long press the input area of the phone number and select paste. Let us know if you have further questions.

On VZW perhaps? Someone on another forum posted the same thing and it seems VZW related. I'm on AT&T and it works fine.

Interesting... so doing "press & hold" (long press) on the field to the left of the delete symbol (above the phone dial pad) doesn't display the paste and clipboard icons?

I've been to the rodeo and know what cut and paste should do. Your keyboard is totally different than mine which looks like the international version's. So VZW has been under the hood.

Make sure you press and hold right above the top row of numbers... the (hidden) borders of the entry field are about the same height as a row of numbers, and do not include the entire space above:

Yeah they are probably trying to paste above the actual field. I was guilty of that when I first got my phone as well lol

That looks like the T-Mobile keyboard to me with the video calling.

I was seeing the same issue trying to paste as well. I found out you need to touch and hold directly above the 1 or 2 until the copy paste shows (about 1 second)
