I purchased the VS980 when it first arrived on scene. Now, I have G3 that I use as my primary device since November 2014. I then rooted the G2 using Stump Root and all was good. I didn't flash any ROMs because I didn't want to brick the device and honestly I am not that confident I wouldn't mess it up completely even though I feel like I could if I dedicated enough time to making sure I did it right. Anyway, last night I read about Lollipop being pushed out for the G2. So, like a dumbass, I swapped the sim card from the G3 to the G2 and sure enough updates were ready. I completely forgot about the root. There was an initial update that took only 10 minutes and it completed just fine. I remembered about root after that, but thought if I pushed the Lollipop update it would just get rid of the root and I would be back to a base version unrooted. Well, the OTA wouldn't take and I did some reading about why and realized it was because of the root embedded deep in the phone. Understood.
So, I went searching for the way to unroot and go back to stock Kit Kat. I have tried several methods using known sites that provide detailed instructions on what files, etc to download. However, I have either been redirected to garbage downloads or taken to sites that indicate the file no longer exists. I just want to go back to stock so I can try Lollipop on the G2.
Can someone point me in the right direction where the files exist and I dont need to download 50 other bs programs? I would appreciate any help please.
Thank you
