How can I recover and delete pics/video from my Galaxy S5, the screen is broken and all black.

I dropped my phone today. It smashed the screen and it slowly became black. I can see a tiny bit at the top and it appears to be receiving messages and notifications but the screen is ruined.
Before I hand it in for repair I want to remove all pics from it. How can I do this? I do not have a pinlock on the phone.

You can connect the device to a computer and Open Kies (on the computer) and see if it reads the device. If it does, then you are in luck and should be able to pull those images and files. Otherwise, you won't be able to retreive them and will need to have the screen replaced to retrieve the files.

In the future, consider keeping a backup. It's best to automatically sync photos/videos (when connected to Wi-Fi) to a file sharing service such as Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
