How can I recover ascii passkey from my wpa_supplicant.conf

Galaxy S5 - OS still original 4.4.2 rooted.

Even if I write ascii passkeys to connect to wifi routers, in the wpa_supplicant.conf all passkeys stored are transformed in hex.

The result is that I cannot recover an original password like I have been doing up to now even with OS 4.4.4 on my previous phones.

Moreover, I cannot use the hex password to connect to wifi routers because they won't work.
Thanks.

Look up an ASCII chart on the web. 30 is 0, and the digits go up from there. 41 is A, 61 is a, and the letters go up from there.

Break the hex into 2 digit groups and translate.

This is a chart (if you don't mind waiting 2 seconds for the second frame to load - it looks interlaced or something, and it's fuzzy until it finishes loading.)
