how can i remap the hardware buttons if im using a optimus s rom on the v

i downloaded button remapper but i dont understand how to work it

Download es file explorer
open it
Hit menu and go into settings
I can't remember the exact layout but you need to enable root privileges and mount /system as writable
Browse to /system/usr/keylayout
Edit qwerty.kl and thunderc_keypad.kl
Keys 139 and 102 are the important ones

Also what rom are you trying?

Except for the root file manager.

Root Browser lite is the best free root file manager.
Root explorer is the best root file manager, but it's a paid app.

I'll have to try it out some time.. I've just only used es and didn't know if root browser lite could edit the files

I was of the same opinion my self just last month. 50 year old brain can't remember who mentioned it, but I ended up downloading and checking it out. Blew ES File explorer out of the water.
Does more, doesn't require much in the way of setting it up, etc.

I use Root Explorer, but recommend Root Browser Lite to all new rooted members and those who can't afford to buy apps.
