How can I remove multiple emails from inbox & trash folders?

removing multiple emails from inbox & trash folders

I have a new S6 from Sprint (previous G4). Is there a way to delete multiple emails from the inbox & or trash folders of my personal pop3 account? Removing them 1 at a time is painful, I cannot find a select all button. Or maybe there is another email app I can use.

I use the Gmail app and all you have to do is click on the little circles on the left to select multiple messages.
