How can I remove the "apps" icon from s8 plus home screen on bottom dock bar?

Hold your finger on the app you want to remove, when the dialog bubble pops up select "Remove shortcut" (it has the trashcan next to it). Done.

I also found it hard to figure out how to get rid of the Apps Icon Button.

So more specifically...

If you tap and hold on a blank area on your Homescreen, the screen will change and you will see a Home Screen Settings button.

Click this button and then choose Apps Button and then choose HIDE to make it go away.
