How can I set a custom notification sound on Cyanogenmod 11 for Samsung S3?

how to set custom notification sound on cyanogenmod 11 for samsung s3

hi...
i have read almost every thread on the internet but...i have no idea hoe to add a mp3 to my incomming message sound choices.

i have a samsung s3 with 11-20151108-NIGHTLY-i9300 rom installed.

everybody says put it in the folder notifications...there isnt one. i have try to put it in music and ringtons files, restarting the phone....no effect....

any ideas?

I am not sure a mp3 will work, I believe you have to convert them over to m4a. Check the format on the files in the notifications folder, then convert the file to match that. You should be able to move on from there.

like i said: there is NO NOTIFICATION FOLDER so i cant do that. also i cant see the sound effects for ringtones in a folder on my pc, so i cant manualy add a new one...

any ideas?

There is actually, you need to set your file manager to root access so you can see /system.
