How can I stop messages from certain phone numbers getting deleted?

I have SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 8. Usually all my messages stay till 90 days but when I get message from my husband's phone or if I send him a message, it gets deleted once we have read it. Not sure how to fix this issue and it is driving me crazy! Can someone help?

Not sure why it is treating your husband's messages different than the others.

If you are using the default Messages app, you can change the time by going to the 3 dots menu -> Settings -> "More settings" -> "Delete old messages".
I have it set to never.

I agree it seems odd that those messages would be treated differently but it could be on his end. We're assuming that things between the two of you are in good standing but we shouldn't assume. There are apps that delete messages after being read and prevent them from being forwarded or screenshots taken of them. If he is using an app like this there may be nothing you can do accept ask him not to use the app when messaging you.
