Phone calling random people

For the last 3 years or so, my phone, either my HTC one-X or my samsung galaxy S4 (both operating with Android), has been calling other phones at random at a frequency of atleast once every two weeks. The calls are made to people I do not know at all. So it never calls people from my contacts.
My screen is locked with a complex tic-tac-toe password that often takes me like 3 tries to get correctly, so the phone is not dialed by accident in my pocket. Also, I left my phone alone on my desk all day in a upright position without touching it or opening it and my phone still managed to call someone.
There seems to be two main reccuring themes. Firstly, the calls my phone makes do not show up in the call history. The only way I know that my phone made a call is when the person calls me back and asks who the hell I am (often at the wrong moment, like in class).
Secondly, all the numbers that call me back start with 514-909-xxxx, which happens to be the same number sequence as my phone. I have kept the same number (514-909-xxxx) for both my HTC and my Samsung Galaxy. I do believe this is a number that pertains only to certain cell phone users of the area of Montreal, Canada
In summary, my phone has been not only calling random people, but people with phone numbers beginning with 514-909 and with no trace in my call history.
