How can I stop my phone from switching on and off with the simcard inserted?

my phones switches on and off with simcard inserted

Without the simcard in the phone stays on and works perfectly, but as soon as I put the simcard in it restarts over and over not allowing me to use the phone, the simcard works perfectly in another phone and the phone has worked perfectly with this simcard for 6 months, any suggestions to why or what I can do? I'm not very techy

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Can you try another SIM in the phone? If the same thing happens, then there's probably some fundamental hardware issue.
