How can I stop my S3 from crashing?

my S3 keep crashing

my galaxy S3 is running custom ROM CM12 lollipop 5.0.2..whenever I play heavy graphic games such as real racing 3 and deer hunter.It get laggy at the beginning of the game...and then it crashes every time...

It could be many thing like :

1)Your phone's resources (memory /cpu) are being spread thin among many apps running in the background.
There's not enough resources to run the game smoothly.

2) buggy game / rom

3) weak / old battery
