How can I tell if my S3 is unlocked? It's rooted.

This could be the dumbest question. I did search but I can't really deduce the answer...

My phone is rooted running CM10. Does this mean it is also unlocked in the sense that it can be used with other SIM cards?

I know there is something about trying other SIM cards but I don't really have one to play with. Is there an app or something on the phone that would tell me if it's unlocked?

No. The phone would only be able to be used with Verizon. When you root, you unlock the phone so you can change ROMs and customize your phone more. If you try to use a ROM from a different carrier you risk bricking the phone.

The Verizon Samsung S3 is GSM carrier unlocked if you have installed the June 20, 2013 update VRBMF1. You can use any GSM sim that uses 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 GSM frequencies including AT&T and T-Mobile. For CDMA use you can modify it since you have it rooted if the carrier uses the 850/1900 frequencies. No 4G except on Verizon.
