How can I wake up the device besides using the side button?

Is there a way to wake up the device by using any other button besides the power or side button? It's a pain in the butt.

Yes it is I am just waiting for the power button to wear out like it did on 3 of my iphones

I wake mine up with the volume button. I do the same with my atrix. Don't really want to wear the power button down as well.

Thought I read somewhere where you can wake the phone up with a hard shake with some app that runs in the background. Really need to get my hands on that app.

If I remember, Fancy Widgets had the Shake to Wake option.

Oh my bad I forgot to mention you need an app called widget locker from the app market. The it has an option called easywake which even let you your back key to wake the phone up gonna try that option now actually.

My bad the back key only unlocks the phone instead of swiping the unlock which actually isn't bad at all.

Another good thing about widget locker is you can customize your entire lockscreen and even add your own wallpaper.
