How can there be data usage on a stolen phone?

Data usage on stolen phone

My Samsung Galaxy 4 had a pattern lock on it, yet there has been data usage after it was stolen. (I've now disabled the account.) Out of curiosity, how was the phone used at all, given that it had a lock? Also, can the IMEI be altered. Thank you!

It depends on the settings you had on the phone. It would be best to speak with your carrier or network provider about these things.

Can probably do a hard reset..which is..taking the battery out without shutting phone down
