Is the LG G5 a phone that developers can take advantage of? How developer friendly will it be?

I would assume it as friendly as most phones to devs , I would think that LG wants folks to focus on building for the LG and Friends to take advantage of that modular aspect other than that its like any other android phone .

LG is not particularly developer friendly. And it's also the carriers you have to consider, most are not developer friendly either. Verizon, AT&T and Sprint routinely lock down the bootloaders on their variants. Only T-Mobile doesn't. With the V10, even international variants were locked down. T-Mobile is the only variant that allowed you to unlock the bootloader. So it was not developer friendly at all. The G5 might be the same way

Both the G3 and G4 had unlocked bootloaders for the international and T-Mobile models. The G3 had a great dev community. The G4, not so much in comparison.

I imagine the G5 will be just as developer friendly, though that doesn't mean developers will flock to it.
