How difficult is it?

I have no experience whatsoever in computer or phone app programming- however, I have several ideas for apps that I would like that are related to my job. I've searched and cannot find anything similar to what I am looking for. I think that these could even be money-making apps if done right. I'm going to look at the sticky threads here but the question I have is how difficult is it for a complete novice to get started programming apps for Android (and eventually iPhone)?
