How do I add a custom notification sound or ringtone?!

How do I add a custom notification sound to my Galaxy?

Every ANDROID I've ever own has been straight forward, just copy it to the Ringtones or Notifications folder and boom, done.

However there is a problem, my phone doesn't have either folders. I looked throughout my file explorer, ES, Astro, and a few more. However no folders anywhere.

I'm confused on what to do (without rooting).

You can try a 3rd party app like Ringtone make, it's in play store.

Try creating a directory called /Ringtones in the root user directory. Then copy a sound file to that directory, and then go to the settings menu to choose a new ringtone. Does it show up there?
