How do I add gmail to my LG G2

My phone stopped receiving/sending group texts this week, then today stopped receiving individual texts. When I went to the Verizon store I bought it at, I was told to reset to factory data, which I have done. I was able to input my contacts, but am now trying to add my gmail account. I have followed the instructions completely, but keep getting a message saying something like incorrect information. However, I am absolutely putting the correct email address and password in....the exact same I used to be able to reload my contacts

Welcome to Android Central! So after you factory reset and went through the Setup Wizard again, were you able to enter your Google account successfully there? If so, then are you saying you're unable to add your Gmail account to the stock Email app? Have you considered using the Gmail app? If all you use is Gmail, there's probably no good reason to use the stock Email app when you could be using the dedicated Gmail app.
