How do I block/restrict adult content from my child's smartphone?

I have a 13 year old son who just got his first android smartphone (thanks to ex). I set his phone up with my gmail account because I didn't want him to have his own yet?

I have already discovered things I don't want my son to be able to access/see. How do I restrict any and all adult content? Or can I just block particular types of sites? (I think you all know what kind of content I mean.......) There is too much trash out there and I want to limit his exposure to it. Thanks!

Most modern phones have parental control. That said, kids are very clever at getting around things so you have to trust that they keep away from places they shouldn't go..

Settings him up with your email means you can check what he gets up to, however he can do that to you also!
