So recently my phone has been giving me messages for low storage space. So uninstalled multiple apps , deleted lots of photos and videos but did not release that much.
I checked storage in settings and noticed that my dialer storage takes up a whopping 7.62gb!!!
I have read some forums online and have found maximum a couple 100mbs but never this amount..
And to top it off the options to clear data and/or cache are greyed out so I cannot even test to see what would happen.
Please help!!

PS I have an S7 (SM-G930FD) running Android 6.01

The dialer's storage is your contacts (so is the dialer's data, so if you could clear that you'd lose all your contacts).

Normally, with 100 contacts, you won't be using that much storage, but some people actually have thousands of contacts in the phone - and that eats storage.

If you don't, try syncing your contacts with Google Contacts. (If you have contacts that are Device, Phone or SIM contacts [look at the first line when editing a contact], see Backing up an Android Device (under Contacts: 1 and 2). Only Google contacts get backed up to Google's server (which is why all contacts should be entered as Google contacts by default - don't ask me why Google chose to not do that). If you get thousands of contacts at Google Contacts, it's easier to delete a lot at once than it would be on the phone.
