How do I change this phone behavior? I've watched tons of youtubes and nothing has worked.

How do I stop the screen from turning on when I receive text messages? I want to be able to see that I got messages, by seeing a badge icon but I don't want the screen turning on. How do I fix this? I'm using Samsung messages.

Well, the screen HAS to turn on to show you anything at all! Even if you have a completely black wallpaper that makes the screen look like it's off...it's still on! Maybe that way you can have the same experience as turned off with just an icon showing up for a notification??? Otherwise...I don't think it's possible.

I'm sure there is a 3rd party app. I used to use one that did just that year's ago but I just can't remember what it was called.

On my last phone, a Note 10+, I would hear the text notifications but the screen would not turn on. When I manually turned the screen on, I'd see the dot on the messages icon. This is what I am trying to accomplish on this phone.

That worked. I don't know why nobody mentioned it in any of the videos that I watched.

If you use AOD you get just the icon when u go to settings>notifications>lock screen notifications like my screenshot
