How do I check my voicemail on my phone but i have no service?

I need to know how or what number to call to check my voicemail on my phone from a landline and will the notification go away once i check it from another phone? Please Note i live in an area where cell phones don't exist.

You should be able to call YOUR phone number, than during the message, press either * or # and you'll be prompted to enter your pin.
Once you successfully check your voicemail, the message indicator will go off when your phone is back in a service area.
For more specific directions, you should contact your cell carrier, as the directions can vary depending on your carrier.
