How do I clean the fingerprint sensor on my LG G5?

I have started getting the error message that my fingerprint sensor needs to be cleaned. As such, it will not read my fingerprint.

How can I clean this?

I had that from day 1 - it probably means that your finger isn't in the right position. Add another fingerprint, but this time be careful how you place your finger each time. If you do it right, the slightest "resting of your finger in the sensor should register as your fingerprint.
