How do I completely disregard the update?

So I don't want to accept the update. How do I cancel Device Management and tell the Captivate to disregard further requests?
It continues to offer me the update and the icon is in the pulldown bar but I am not going to update and I want the icon gone. My only options seem to be accept or postpone. No way to cancel.
Can I turn this option off somewhere? Thanks.

use an app killer, but whatever you do, dont postpone as that is acceptance, but delayed install

can we get a more developed answer from others opposed to updating?

i dont want to have to app kill a notification everytime they try to push it to my device

my app killer (advance task killer) doesn't show device management in the list and it still shows a message/icon on my pulldown bar.

I never got a pushed update. I can careless. I am waiting for Froyo anywho.

you will care when there is an unremovable notification on your phone that isnt there YET because they have not completed the update yet, samsung stated originally that the update would take a couple weeks it was att that said they could do it by friday. Never the less we should know not to listen to either about timeframes.

my concern is keeping the update of my phone when it arrives.
