How do I connect my HtC One to my tv?

connecting htc one to my tv?

i have an mhl cable to connect my htc one m7 to my tv. One bit goes into the fone, one into the tv hdmi slot and another into the tv usb slot. At first it worked fine. Now it doesnt show any video or sound but says on fone screen "mhi connected" or words to that effect. I replaced the cable assuming it to be faulty but as the problem is still here i now doubt that. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not sure if this will matter, but try plugging the full-sized USB plug into a USB port that definitely supplies power. The USB plug is probably required to supply power to the MHL adapter, and I'm not sure a USB port on the TV is powered. Try plugging it into your laptop's USB port, or connect it to a wall charger plug (that has a USB port in it).

Thanks but the usb on the tv does power it. It all worked fine at first then just stopped showing video. I dont know if my fone has an update that would prevent it working or if foe some reason its the all the hdmi ports on the tv but i doubt that cos they all work with other devices so leaves me almost certain its a fone issue.
