How do I delete extra homescreens on Galaxy S3?

I have tried the original way to delete a home screen, lately I haven't been able to do it. It will clear the screen when it gets to the garbage can but the page will not go in! It is driving me crazy! I don't want these extra blank home screens! Please help!
