I am using the ZTE phone from Cricket. I have searched everywhere and cannot find the answer. I want to delete pictures from my facebook account. I've opened the picture, but there are not 3 dots or 3 lines to click for a menu. When I long press the picture, a menu does come up but NOT a delete option.

Ideas?

Can you include a picture of what you're seeing, maybe? From the Facebook app, when you're viewing a picture (as long as that picture IS yours and it's in your albums), you should see a bunch of options pop up when tapping the menu button (three dots, top right corner), including 'Delete photo'

Well, I am wondering if that's the problem, the picture may not be "mine". I am actually writing this for a friend, I can't get a screenshot of her phone. (Well, I could try if it's really important). I am no slouch with tech, but this phone evades my understanding...which is why I'm wondering if she is just tagged in a picture and that's why it won't come up....

Basically the top of the phone shows the Location Icon, a search icon, and another I cannot remember what it was, but didn't give any menu. :(

Ah, yeah. For pictures that aren't yours, you'll see search, location (if available), tags (if available), and the menu button up top. Tapping the menu button for pictures that aren't on their account would only yield the options to Save to phone (if privacy settings allow it), share external (ditto on the privacy settings), and give feedback/report photo.

If the picture is uploaded by their account, then the menu button will show a bunch more options like Make profile picture, edit caption, and delete photo. If they don't have these options, chances are the picture isn't theirs and only the account that uploaded it can modify it.

Also, FB app is the same across Android devices, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I was wondering if the app looked different across different phones. I know other functionality is different sometimes depending on the service you are using, let alone the phone itself. I will share this with her and see if it helps. Thank you!!

It might look different between Android and iPhone, but it's the same app, with the same code (basically - different people may be running different versions because they have/haven't updated) for all Android phones. It has nothing to do with the "service", if you mean carrier. It's different between the phone and a Windows computer - because it's a different program.

Hi,

To remove your photo from Facebook this is the simple procedure you need to follow:

  1. Click the photo to open it
  2. Click Options on the menu bar below the photo
  3. Select Delete This Photo and click Delete

But as you are saying that you are not getting an option to do this simple procedure. Then either you have to post a screenshot or help us with some more details to understand the problem more deeply to suggest you a way out of it.

Cheers
