I don't have com.wssyncmldm loaded on my device. From what I can find, it appears that's an older app/service that isn't loaded any more, at least on the Verizon and AT&T variants. Folks were reporting it gone last fall, so I'm not sure that it is a Nougat thing.

The free package disabler is still working. The only imperfection is that it also disables the backup function (for both Samsung and Google accounts). But syncing to Google account is fine.

if u are on 7.0 fw
u can use package disabler pro samsung
search for com.w disable that
search for com.sec disable that
and stops it asking u to update
still can't get rid of that notfication tho

I can confirm that after installing Package Disabler Pro and setting these two System items to disabled, that the daily update and the notification is gone. On MM here. Good enough for me. Thanks everyone.
