How do I stop my G3 from asking me questions, such as who do I want to dial(not sure if those are the exact words) when it's in my pocket?

Check the accessibility settings. There might be a hands free or talk back feature enabled.

Also, what does the screen look like after you check it? Is it on a certain screen or pop-up dialogue box after you hear those actions?
