How do I disable the proximity sensor on my Galaxy S5?

Self-explanatory. I'm tired on my screen turning off during a Skype, phone, or hangouts call because I have my thumb over the sensor. I want to play games while on call

The answer is probably no. However no one has really used this phone in years.

Did you ever get an answer. I would like to turn off the proximity sensor, also. I don't like it when I make a call, hold the phone near my ear, the screen goes dark, then I want to look at it while I am talking, and it takes 3 seconds for the screen to come back on. Is annoying.
Is there any way to turn the proximity sensor off?

I believe you only need to have your finger not above the sensor. Same thing, its very irritating that my screen flashes!
