Disable ultra power saving mode while phone locked (S5)

So, I managed to lock myself out of my samsung galaxy s5, and now my phone is now asking for an alternative password (which I don't remember setting).
I tried going onto android/google device manager but the phone seems to have glitched from what I believe is because I put it in ultra power saving mode.
If anyone can suggest if it's possible to disable ultra power saving mode while the phone is still locked please do.

p.s. I also rooted my phone before I became locked out of it.

Bring the phone and photo ID showing that the phone is activated on an account you own to your carrier - they can remove the lock.

Take it to your carrier and see if they can unlock it.

Re: Disable ultra power saving mode while phone locked (S5)

Was this issue resolved? I am having the same problem, except that I did not root my phone as was noted here. I called T-Mobile, but they only suggested a factory reset which would result in losing all data not stored on the SIM card. I just checked and it appears that something stopped the syncing process back in May so a factory reset would erase all data, pictures, text msgs, contacts, etc since May. Not an appealing option. Obviously I will be sure to check syncing more often in the future.

Re: Disable ultra power saving mode while phone locked (S5)

I've now checked with 5 different tech support reps from T-Mobile, Samsung and an independent repair shop and no one has offered any solution besides a factory reset. Please let me know if you have actually been able to have a T-Mobile rep help to reset the alternative password on a Samsung S5 while it is in Ultra Power Saving Mode.

Normally I would just do a factory reset because everything is synced up to my Google account. However, apparently my SD card, which was my primary storage, filled up on May 2, so everything since then is stored on internal memory and thus that would all be lost if I were to do a factory reset. I've taken a lot of pictures and video of my 2 1/2 yr old boy in the last few months and I am trying to avoid losing everything since May 2.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Disable ultra power saving mode while phone locked (S5)

Sorry for the late reply, I tried phoning up talktalk (my carrier) and samsung and they both told me my only option was to wipe the phone and restore it via any back up options. Which in the end is what I did.
Luckily I didn't have much to lose but it is a very annoying glitch to which any phone can not be unlocked via the Lock option in device manager when in ultra power saving mode.
There is neither an option to disable ultra power saving mode when the phone is locked from as far as I can see without changing any system settings anyhow.
Nevertheless I will not be using ultra power saving mode ever again and hope that this bug can be fixed sometime soon and will just stick to turning off my phone.
