How do i edit the apps that appear in the system share menu?

When apps share via the Android 10 system share api/menu, a ton of apps appear that I would never use to share information. The menu is cluttered and annoying. Almost as bad, the order of the apps constantly changes.

Can I remove or change the order of the apps that appear?

A quick google says I should be able to tap and hold an app's icon and pin it (to appear at the top of the menu), but "Pin" is not an option for me.

I don't have a pin option either - Pixel 2 XL on Android 10 Jan. patch.

That list is built using declarations by the apps, you can't change that without re-building the app.

Maybe? I never tried doing it until I saw this thread so I'm not really sure.

I have the pixel 4 xl and can't change the options menu for share , on screen pining you enable it in settings then recent app pull-up tap the large icon on the card to give option for screen pining.
