How to factory reset Galaxy s5 after lollipop install

I installed the lollipop update and now get constant "unfortunately, the system UI has failed. This happens for a variety of reasons and has rendered my phone pretty much useless for anything other than making a phone call. Most of the other accessories, apps and program either only have limited functionality or are unstable and shut down.

So, What is the best method/process to reset my phone to pre-5.0 and/or to reinstall 5.0

Before considering that, have you tried a Cache Partition wipe?

That was the first thing I did. Didn't help.

I suspect the "error" messages have changed in 5.0 because I used to get an error message when I opened the cover on my phone in KK. I don't get that anymore, the UI just stops. But some of the other error messages are new.

There is nothing I need to save on my phone so would it be smart to just to reset it to factory then do the updates?
