How do I fix corrupted files that were transferred onto Micro SD card?

I have some very important files that I transferred onto a Micro SD card in order to free up space on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It's been a couple of months or so since I put it in. Everything seemed to work until not but a day or two later, the files are blank and have a thumbnail with a projector reel and a lightning bolt at the corner. I guess the file is corrupted. I have tried everything I can think of to recover the files. I have tried converting the files and everything. I moved everything to my computer so I would have it backed up. Everything I try to use to convert, fix or anything, can't recognized the corrupt file I guess. I really hope that I'm not SOL. If anyone can tell me how to fix this, I'd be very grateful! These are work related files.

I don't think that they can be fixed, but I will move this to the note 3 forum, hopeful someone there has some ideas

Sorry, but you are SOL. Unless the files are something that can be fixed with human intelligence (some database files, many documents, etc.), there's nothing you can do. Corrupted pictures have missing parts - no computer can guess what's missing and add it back.

You said "very important files". That means that you should have at least 3 copies of each file - the working one (which would be on your SD card) and 2 backups - I usually back up anything important to my desktop's hard drive, an external drive and at least 2 cloud accounts (in different hemispheres of the world). If both cloud accounts go bad at the same time, files will be the least of my worries - I'll be too busy learning to breathe vacuum.

We used to back up only the most important things. It was slow, and tapes cost a lot (so did drives). There's no excuse for not having a ridiculous number of backups today, considering that you can get 50GB of free storage any time, and backing up to it is in the background and fast.
