how do i fix my phone when it says google has stopped working on my Lg Optimus

Every time I try to use the key pad on my phone it says : "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped."... every time I select an app or anything on my phone it says that!... I can't do anything on my phone, do to this inconvenient situation.
