how do I fix the UI system not responding on my note 8

[Android Central Question]

Turned on my phone, went to check my email and a message came up saying "system UI isn't responding". Now my phone won't do anything.
I have a galaxy note8 please help!

Welcome to Android Central! Does it persist after a reboot? If you're unable to reboot using the normal method, then press and hold Power and Vol Down for about 20 seconds to force a shutdown. If the problem keeps happening, see if it goes away in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-36242. If it does go away, then something you installed is probably causing the instability -- you'd have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem stays away.
